Calling all Hollie Heroes!
Do your bit to help the Hollie Gazzard Trust this Sunday 26th April 2020 by creating a 2.6 challenge fundraising page or completing a 2.6 challenge.

Many fundraising events across the UK have been cancelled due to COVID-19. In response, the Hollie Gazzard Trust is getting behind a new, national campaign to raise funds to help save UK charities.

The campaign, called The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April, what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon.

Our very own Walk4 Hollie, which we hoped would raise vital funds to support our free personal safety app Hollie Guard was due to take place this Sunday. It is always one of the highlights of the Trust’s year and we anticipated that it would raise vital funds to support Hollie Guard, our free personal safety app.

The 2.6 challenge is open to anyone but if you take part, please stay safe and follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.

Can you think up some fun ways using the number 2.6 or 26 to raise funds for us? How about who can do the most skips in 26 seconds, or do a 26m three-legged race. You could Draw 26 rainbows or see who can build the biggest lego tower in 2.6 minutes. Could you do a sponsored silence for 2.6 minutes or even 26 hours!

Can you do 26 keepy uppies with a football? Bake 26 cupcakes?

The ideas are endless!

Once you have chosen your challenge, find the Hollie Gazzard Trust on Virgin Money Giving to set up your fundraising page and ask your friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor you.

Why support HGT?

For most of us being at home is the safest place right now, but for victims of domestic abuse the prospect of being at home with their perpetrator will be frightening and dangerous.

Tragically there has been a 30% rise in domestic violence alerts on Hollie Guard in the weeks following the lockdown, it has been reported that domestic abuse killings more than doubled over a three-week period after the UK went into locked down,

Reports from around the world confirm that the lockdown associated with Coronavirus is leading to increased incidents of domestic abuse; which is putting more people at risk of serious harm.

With your help the most vulnerable people experiencing domestic abuse can download and use Hollie Guard free of charge. When they are in danger a simple shake of their phone will send an alert to their emergency contacts who can contact the emergency services if necessary. Being able to use Hollie Guard helps protect the most vulnerable people from harm and potentially save lives.

Thank you for supporting the Trust in these difficult times.
