The Hollie Gazzard Trust continues to grow and develop and is looking for additional Trustees to join their Board. A number of positions are available to individuals who want to be involved in a fast growing and progressive Trust.
The Trust was established following the death of Hollie in February 2014. On 25 April 2014, the charity commission awarded the Trust Charitable status as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) number 1156804. The aims of the Trust are to support and fund young hairdressers to be trained and educated in hairdressing in partnership with Gloucestershire College; Raise awareness of knife crime and weapon behaviour; Educate young people about the importance of healthy relationships and to identify signs of potential abuse; Raising the profile, awareness and risks of stalking by providing a robust response to stalking behaviours and its victims through the Gloucestershire Stalking Support Service.
The following roles are available;
Treasurer
The role entails maintaining an overview of the affairs of the Trust ensuring its financial viability and that proper financial records and procedures are maintained in line with FRS 102 SORP standards. The main responsibilities are to keep the Board informed of its financial duties and responsibilities, advise on the financial implications of the Trust’s strategic plans, ensuring that an appropriate reserving policy is in place and overseeing, approving and presenting budgets, accounts and financial statements. Previous experience of the role would be desirable but not essential. This position is voluntary and unpaid.
Successful applicants would need to be able to commit to the time and demands required to fulfil the role, undertake the general responsibilities of a Trustee and contribute to the general running of the Trust. It is anticipated that the time required to perform the role is around 2 days per month.
Fundraising Trustee
The Trust has specific aims and targets set to raise funds to finance these aims. The Fundraising manager will play a key role in shaping the overall fundraising strategy and activity of the Trust and driving forward initiatives and plans to ensure long term sustainability and growth of the Trust. The fundraising Trustee will manage and lead the fundraising team to raise the required funds, developing and implementing a fundraising strategy in line with the Trusts requirements. They will lead on new fundraising initiatives, build on existing relationships and broaden the mix of income streams including developing new streams. They will also be responsible for managing the Hollie helpers and overseeing external fundraising activities. This position is voluntary and unpaid.
Successful applicants would need to be able to commit to the time and demands required to fulfil the role, undertake the general responsibilities of a Trustee and contribute to the general running of the Trust. It is anticipated that the time required to perform the role is around 2 days per month, although this will increase during the summer months.
Marketing Communications Trustee
The role of the Marketing Communications Trustee is to increase awareness and develop the corporate image and plan, direct, and coordinate the marketing of the Trust. The individual will be responsible for developing a marketing communications plan to raise awareness of the Trust through quality marketing initiatives. Key skills include; a good communicator,; exceptional writing, editing and copywriting skills; running successful marketing campaigns and solid experience of social media.
Successful applicants would need to be able to commit to the time and demands required to fulfil the role, undertake the general responsibilities of a Trustee and contribute to the general running of the Trust. It is anticipated that the time required to perform the role is around 1 day per month, although this will increase during higher levels of Trust activity.
