Lee Fancourt World Record

He did it!! Lee Fancourt successfully completed and became the fastest cyclist of the trans-Europe, North to South route covering 4,300 miles and 12 countries. He set a world record in 21 days, 14 hours and 29 minutes and finished the final 100 miles with a cracked rib. Lee, 38, began his record attempt at the most northern point of mainland Europe, in Nordkoff, Norway before cycling through Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and France. He finished at the most southerly point at Punta de Tarifa in Spain. His victory was the first of 10 world record attempts he will be attempting in the next 12 months. He already holds the unofficial record for cycling the world, completing the trip in 88 cycling days, beating the official record by three weeks. He cycled unsupported and smashed the £2,000 target he had set. It was a monumental achievement and HGT offer huge congratulations at becoming the new world record holder and for all his fundraising and support.
