KEY STAGE 3

Introduction to the Hollie Gazzard Trust

This powerful 45–60 minute presentation shares the story of Hollie Gazzard and how her tragic experience led to the creation of the Hollie Gazzard Trust and introduces students to our free personal safety app, Hollie Guard. Designed to introduce students to the Trust, and to provide them with a practical tool to help keep themselves safe.

Healthy Relationships

This engaging 60-minute workshop helps students understand what a healthy relationship looks like - and crucially, what it doesn’t. Many young people do not understand what a healthy relationship is. However, there is evidence to suggest that with guidance and education, we can raise awareness of unacceptable behaviours and provide young people with the tools to avoid or escape abusive relationships.

Active Bystander

As members of society, we are all bystanders to events on a daily basis. Some of these events are unacceptable and need challenging. In this 60-minute presentation, we discuss the need for intervention and how we can do this safely, offering students a range of skills to give them the confidence to challenge situations they may find unacceptable.

Rethinking Masculinity

Rethinking Masculinity supports boys and young men in understanding how to grow into respectful, emotionally aware individuals. With increasing concerns around gender expectations, harmful stereotypes, and media influence, many parents and professionals are seeking ways to help boys navigate these pressures. The session explores themes such as respect, consent, emotional wellbeing, and healthy relationships. It offers practical guidance on dealing with expectations, challenging unhelpful norms, and making positive choices for themselves and those around them.

Designed for small groups (6–8 participants), the workshop can be delivered as a half-day or full-day programme, creating a safe space for honest conversation, reflection, and learning.

Knife Crime Awareness

Knife Crime Awareness is a 45-60 minute presentation that is best suited to a single lesson. The presentation focuses on reasons why people might carry knives, the law around knives, statistics on knife crime within Gloucestershire, information on the ripple effect and joint enterprise. We encourage student participation. We also explain how students can report knife crime anonymously with fearless.org

KEY STAGE 4 AND 5

Coercive Controlling Behaviour Awareness

This 60-minute workshop raises awareness of coercive control, a form of domestic abuse used to dominate, intimidate, and isolate victims through patterns of threats, humiliation, and manipulation.

The session explores what coercive control is, how it manifests, and the range of tactics used by abusers. We also discuss the legal recognition of coercive control under the Serious Crime Act, helping attendees understand the protections now in place.

Active Bystander: Sexual Harassment

With 66% of girls aged 14–21 in Gloucestershire reporting unwanted sexual attention in public, it’s vital we talk to young people about sexual harassment.

This 60-minute interactive workshop explores what sexual harassment is, why it happens, who it affects, and how we can challenge it. By encouraging students to intervene, in safe ways, as active bystanders, we seek to bring about change, creating safer and more inclusive communities.

Stalking Awareness

This 60-minute session provides a powerful and comprehensive insight into stalking, what it is, how it impacts victims and their loved ones, and how to support someone who may be at risk.

Through Hollie’s story, the workshop explores stalking behaviours, different types of stalkers, and current legislation. It highlights the importance of early identification, effective safeguarding, and practical steps for safety planning.

Designed for small groups (6–8 participants), the workshop can be delivered as a half-day or full-day programme, creating a safe space for honest conversation, reflection, and learning.

doesn’t always tell me much and it
was good to hear what you are doing
in schools. Keep up the good work.

The session covers important themes
and is well structured to help build
students’ understanding of the topic.
Students leave with a clear understanding of what abuse and control looks like in a relationship and the content closely aligns with our Year 9 PSHE curriculum

What sets this training session apart is that
they went into detail about the wider impact
of controlling relationships, such as financial
and emotional (e.g. isolation, leaving jobs,
humiliation in front of family, use of guilt) as
information about abusive relationships can
sometimes focus more on physical abuse

Thank you very much to Sara who delivered an enlightening 'Active bystander' session to our Sixth formers for their weekly enrichment session. For a very tough topic, it was delivered directly and with plenty of interaction to allow our young people to consider how their positive actions can impact on society. Afterwards, the most chat amongst them was about the 'diffusion of responsibility' or the 'bystander effect' , and how to break that. Just what is needed for many of our year 13's who are about to leave the security of school.

The Hollie Gazzard Trust visited our college to do a few sessions for our students. Sara, who came to deliver, was absolutely fantastic - the sessions are very poignant and so necessary at the moment with recent rises in both domestic violence and knife crime in the country. The sessions allow students to challenge their understandings of the bystander effect and think about how
to respond in situations they may find themselves in throughout their lifetimes - and when and how to be an active bystander. I'm sure the talks will be a jumping off point for many important and beneficial conversations between our young people.

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for delivering such thought-provoking assemblies to all year groups today. The sessions were incredibly impactful, and both staff and students have been talking about them throughout the day.
It is truly inspiring that Hollie’s family has established this trust in her memory, using her story to create positive change and educate young people. The message was powerful, and the bystander element, in particular, really resonated with the students, sparking meaningful discussions
