The Hollie Gazzard Trust is delighted to announce that its CEO and Founder, Nick Gazzard, has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year’s Honours List. This prestigious accolade recognises Nick’s unwavering commitment to raising awareness about domestic abuse and stalking and supporting victims since the devastating loss of his daughter, Hollie, in 2014.

Under Nick’s leadership, the Hollie Gazzard Trust has become a beacon of hope and support for individuals affected by domestic abuse and stalking. Since its inception 10 years ago the Trust has focused on prevention, education, and safeguarding, working tirelessly to help build a society where everyone can live free from fear and violence.

Nick’s personal journey is one of resilience and determination. Following the tragic loss of Hollie he has channelled his grief into a mission to drive positive change. A decade on, and the Hollie Gazzard Trust has grown into a nationally recognised organisation, providing educational workshops, and community outreach programs that have touched countless lives across the UK.

Nick said: “Receiving an OBE is an incredible privilege and an honour. I’m truly humbled to have received this news, but it is a recognition I share with everyone who has supported the Hollie Gazzard Trust over the last decade. From staff, trustees, volunteers, and sponsors, through to supporters and donors. My heartfelt ‘thank you’. Of course, the driving force is Hollie. I need to say a special thank you to her. We didn’t want her to be another statistic, and our aim was to use her story to help others avoid what she went through. I’m sure she’s looking down on us with that huge smile – and proud about what is being achieved in her name. This award highlights the importance of continuing our efforts and inspires me to keep driving for change.”

The Hollie Gazzard Trust’s work is rooted in prevention, education, and raising awareness of domestic abuse and stalking. By delivering impactful initiatives such as workshops, school programs, and the groundbreaking Hollie Guard personal safety app, the charity has empowered individuals and communities to recognise the signs of abuse, seek help, and take proactive measures to stay safe.

Nick added: “Together, we have worked to raise awareness, provide education, and offer hope to those affected by domestic abuse and stalking – societal issues that affects far too many lives. It is my hope that this recognition brings further attention to the cause and helps to create a safer, more supportive world for everyone.”

Nick’s OBE is not just a recognition of his personal dedication but also a testament to the collective efforts of the Hollie Gazzard Trust and its supporters. The award shines a spotlight on the vital work being done to address domestic abuse and stalking and provides renewed momentum for the Trust’s mission – a commitment to creating a society where domestic abuse and stalking is not tolerated.

The Hollie Gazzard Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported this journey so far. Nick’s OBE serves as a powerful reminder of the progress that can be achieved when we work together. Congratulations to Nick and thank you for 10 years of support.
