Workshops for Workplaces

Hollie Gazzard tragically lost her life while doing the job she loved. Her story highlights the critical role employers play in keeping their staff safe. Our training workshops help organisations understand the impact of domestic abuse, stalking, and coercive control in professional settings. We support teams to recognise the signs, respond safely, and foster a culture of awareness and support.

Offerings

Working Without Fear by Nick Gazzard OBE

A highly powerful presentation by Hollie’s father, Nick. The personal account of an ordinary Dad whose life was turned upside down after the murder of his daughter. Nick spells out the lessons learned from Hollie’s death and how workplaces can use this knowledge to protect staff, customers and service users. This CPD-accredited interactive session is delivered over two separate days.

Active Bystander Intervention

This empowering training course provides participants with practical tools to help them safely respond to negative and problematic behaviours in the workplace. Ideal for promoting positive workplace culture for all and essential training for workplaces to implement, following the introduction of The Worker Protection Act 2023. Developed in partnership with academics Professor Rachel Fenton and Dr Nate Eisenstadt of Kindling Interventions (kindling-interventions.com), the programme is rigorously evaluated and has an impressive track record of bringing transformative change to organisations. This interactive session is available as a full or half-day.

Stalking in the Workplace Awareness

Stalking is high risk behaviour that damages individuals and communities. Workplaces are commonly targeted by stalkers, both digitally and in the real world. Devised by our CEO, Jane Harvey, who is a subject matter expert on stalking, risk assessment and safety planning.

This CPD-accredited session empowers participants with the knowledge to identify stalking and take action to protect staff, clients and service users. Available as a full or half day

Lone Working

It's estimated 6.8 million people in the UK are lone workers, equating to 22% of the working population. Employers are responsible for lone worker safety during working hours, whether they are in the office, in a vehicle, or on a home visit. By law, employers have specific responsibilities towards the safety of their employees, as do the employees themselves. This CPD-accredited session is available as a 2-hour workshop.

Coercive and Controlling Behaviour Awareness

20-year-old Hollie Gazzard was subjected to abusive and controlling behaviour by her ex-partner before he killed her whilst she was at her workplace. After her death, her family learned about the warning signs of coercive and controlling behaviour. Through sharing Hollie’s experiences, this engaging training explores what domestic abuse and coercive control look like and how those close to a victim, including their colleagues and employers, can help support and keep them safe. This CPD-accredited training course is 3-hours long.

How We Deliver the Training

Workshops are delivered in person by our experienced team and can be tailored to suit your organisation’s needs, whether as part of staff training days, wellbeing initiatives, or ongoing HR and safeguarding programmes.
We aim to build meaningful partnerships with employers, supporting you to create a safer, more informed, and responsive workplace culture.

What Workplaces Say

I attended The Hollie Gazzard training today at Victoria Walk YMCA. In my previous role at The Nelson Trust, I have attended numerous trainings on domestic abuse as well as being trained to facilitate Groups at GDASS. I found today's training to be one of the most informative I have attended; Sara was engaging and presented the training in a way that made you empathise, understand and empowered to take action in a way that doesn't take control away from the victim. I would highly recommend this training to other organisations.

Very informative yet quite relaxed,
so it was easy to absorb the information. It’s amazing (in terms of the training) to hear it from someone who has unfortunately had so much of an insight into it first-hand

We had HR, Security and Student wellbeing staff on the sessions. Everyone felt it was excellent and we needed to do more in this area. All said they would recommend to colleagues to attend these sessions to develop procedures for domestic violence.

We were happy to have Sara Dillon from the Hollie Gazzard Trust come out to talk to the team about Hollie and Domestic Abuse, Controlling Behaviour, Signposting, Active Bystander and how we can support them. A very insightful workshop and thank you to Sara for coming out. We highly recommend the workshop for your staff

The course was insightful, thought provoking as well as hard hitting. When Nick presented the statistics regarding domestic abuse and violence, you could have heard a pin drop in the room as these statistics were a real eye opener for many of us on the course. Everyone who attended found the session incredibly powerful and feedback was excellent. All those who attended work closely with either staff or students and
it will certainly influence our approach in supporting and encouraging those who may be victims of domestic violence and abuse, coercive control and stalking to seek help. I would really recommend other workplaces to support ‘Working Without Fear’ and sign the Employer Pledge. It will make a difference.

We were lucky enough to have the Hollie Gazzard Trust team come in to deliver a session for us as part of our staff briefing at the beginning of the new academic year. The session was the Active Bystander training. The team pitched the session perfectly, and it was interactive, and very thought-provoking. I thought that it was good to discuss the issues from multiple angles and hear the issues that some have to go through and how to support them. The students also had the opportunity to engage in the same session during their welcome week.

The staff who delivered the session were excellent, and I would recommend the session to all Universities and their students. It was a great addition to our start of the year.
