Hollie Gazzard Trust CEO and Founder, Nick Gazzard, has received an Honorary Degree from the University of Hartpury.

The Bachelor of Science with Honours Degree was awarded to Nick, who also gave a speech to all present, at the University of Hartpury Graduation Ceremony at Gloucester Cathedral by Vice-Chancellor Professor Andy Collop on Thursday 3rd November 2022.

University of Hartpury said: ‘’This honorary degree is awarded in recognition of Nick’s dedication to raising awareness and delivering training for the prevention of domestic abuse and stalking. And, as always, in loving memory of Hollie.’’

The charity has worked with the University of Hartpury for many years, delivering training to safeguarding and senior staff along with bystander Intervention training on sexual harassment. We have attended many WellFest events, delivering valuable training on healthy relationships and safeguarding through our personal safety app, Hollie Guard. This year we are extending this to 350 new residential students and rolling out bystander Intervention training on sexual harassment to all sports coaches before the end of the year.

Nick said: ”We consider our partnership with Hartpury as vital in raising awareness of the issues that Hollie faced, and to help to keep students safe during their time at Hartpury, and helping to prepare them for the broader challenges that lie ahead. With our values aligned, I hope that we will continue our valued partnership and make a difference to young people and help keep our communities safer.

I am truly honoured and privileged to receive this Honorary Degree and would like to thank my family, staff and Trustees for their valuable support.”

Congratulations goes also to all the other students who graduated, and the Hollie Gazzard Trust looks forward to continuing the relationship with the university with the common goal of keeping our community safe.
