The Hollie Gazzard Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Harvey as new Chief Executive Officer. Jane steps into the role following the decision by founder Nick Gazzard OBE to step aside after more than a decade of incredible drive, commitment, and leadership. Nick will remain a vital part of the charity, taking on a new public-facing role and joining the Board of Trustees, where he will continue to represent the Trust and contribute to its long-term strategy.
Over the past 11 years, Nick has led the charity with dedication, growing it to a nationally recognised organisation with a powerful mission to educate, prevent and raise awareness of the issues Hollie faced including domestic abuse, domestic violence and stalking.
Nick said: ”Having founded and led the Trust, this has been a great honour and a privilege. The time has come for me to step aside, and I know that the Trust is in great hands with Jane and will continue to grow and be impactful in tackling violence against women and girls.”
Taking over as CEO, Jane Harvey brings a wealth of experience, passion, and drive to the charity. With over 20 years in broadcast journalism with the BBC and ITV, Jane’s journey into advocacy and safeguarding began in 1999 with an ITV documentary exploring the impact of stalking. It was during this time she worked closely with global experts in risk and safeguarding, igniting her long-term commitment to supporting victims of abuse.
Jane played a pivotal role in shaping national policy through her work with the Network for Surviving Stalking and was a founding member of the team behind the National Stalking Helpline in 2010. Her tireless efforts have offered essential support to countless individuals facing high-risk situations.
Jane’s relationship with the Hollie Gazzard Trust began in 2017 after she heard Nick speak on the radio. Deeply moved by Hollie’s story, she joined the Trust to deliver frontline support in Gloucestershire, providing risk assessment, safeguarding, and advocacy to high-risk stalking victims. What started as a pilot project funded by the Trust has grown significantly and now benefits from statutory funding, helping hundreds of victims and survivors each year.
Jane said: ”Words can’t convey how honoured I am to take over as CEO of the Hollie Gazzard Trust. This charity, born out of the worst circumstances imaginable, has achieved so much thanks to the hard work, tenacity, and positivity of Nick, his family, and supporters. I am mindful I have been given this opportunity because I have been privileged to learn from those who have personally experienced the devastation of stalking and domestic abuse. These people remain in my heart and mind as I step into this important leadership role.”
We welcome Jane with great excitement for the future, and extend our heartfelt thanks to Nick for everything he has done (and continues to do) for Hollie’s legacy and for the Hollie Gazzard Trust.
