Alison is proud to be involved with the Hollie Gazzard Trust as Chair of the Trustees. She was born and grew up in Gloucester, leaving to go to University in London at eighteen.
After an extensive career in teaching and social work in London, Hampshire and Gloucestershire she has now retired. Through leading the children centres in the Cheltenham locality, Alison was instrumental in developing services for families and young people experiencing domestic abuse, working closely with agencies and communities.
Alison has experience of developing community projects at a strategic level and gained a master’s in leadership in 2008. Throughout her career she has seen the impact of domestic abuse on families, individuals and communities, she is keen to continue to be involved in improving access to information and education on keeping safe and recognising signs of abuse. Alison is interested in finding creative ways of approaching tasks and planning with the diverse members of the board of trustees, she is pleased to be part of a team with a shared vision and aims.
Spending time with her three young grandchildren, swimming and art are favourite activities.
